"Majestic" set report - Weekend and Monday, April 9
10 Apr 2001

Ferndale Fritz sent more news on the work done during the weekend, and let us know that mostly everyone from production took Saturday off, but that some "background" shooting was done on Sunday afternoon (April 8), although the weather was rainy. It consisted basically of some filming in Mabel's Diner, as locals listened to a broadcast of Pete's testifying before the congressional committee (see our previous article), and also of some outdoor shots of stand-ins walking across the street.

Then yesterday, Monday April 9, Ferndale Fritz told us that all filming was done on the covered sets at the Humboldt County fairgrounds. It was an extremely important and emotional scene featuring Pete (Jim Carrey) at Harry's (Martin Landau) deathbed. The performances were reportedly so poignant that many of the technicians stood absolutely silent after every take.

We can't wait to see it.

-- With our deepest thanks to Ferndale Fritz for the shoot details. Click to comment this article.
