Hey Phantom,

I don't think that Jim Carrey's had diseases or injuries, but I think I read somewhere that he has either manic depression or bipolar disorder. Actually I need help with this question too. Could someone please fill us in on this one?

Quote:
" I'll juice you up"

Jim Carrey in Cable Guy

Depression isn't really a disease though. I suffer it a lot, and I wouldn't call it a disease. I feel for anyone who suffers it though, cos it is one of the most horrible things that you can have! He certainly knows how to put on a brave face anyway, which I think is fantastic, and a very strong characteristic in a person!!!

Anyway, I will quit rambling!!!

Jennaxx<img src=http://Jim Carrey Online.com/board/graphics/chip.gif ALT=":chipb">
It's better to go after something special and risk starving to death than to surrender, if you give up your dreams, what's left?- Jim Carrey.

"It's all fake. I think depression is more of a condition than a disease. I suffer from depression but i don't like to think of it as a disease as such. Yes I'm on medication for it, but medication can help with all sorts of things. I can totally sympathses with Jim tho, depression isn't fun and there's times when you just can't explain why you feel like hell, but Jim's a trooper and he could get through anything I reckon!

bipolar disorder

Post by thoyts »

As someone who has suffered from depression on and off for years may I say that it IS a disease (prozac is the world's best drug, for mr anyway). it's a nasty disease that drains the colour out of the world and takes all the pleasure out of living. It makes you nasty, bitter and not nice to be with. Everyone gets down but not everyone gets clinically depressed to the point where you can't go out the house , or even speak properly. It's crap.

However, depression is nothing like as crap as bipolar disorder. I can't even begin to imagine the pain..If Jim has bipolar disorder then he's doing a bloody good job of keeping it all together. well done that man.
Spike Milligan (uk writer/comic) had bipolar disorder and wrote a book about it with psychiatrist Dr Anthony Clare "depression and how to survive it". Well worth a read, if anyones interested i can get the ISBN number. I'll shut up now.

Depression is torture, I remember the police coming to my school cuz I said I was gonna kill myself and they had a whole squad on me (private all girls catholic school's idea) and when they talked to me I completely flipped into "what are you talking about?" mode. They found nothing wrong with me but told me to see a psychiatrist. I probably should sometimes I never want to do anything but sit in the corner and think about my problems and what a loser and stupid person I am maybe it'll pass some day but I dunno.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T.
