"Ace 3" - Confutatis! Maledictis!

In case you're wondering what my header means, basically it's saying: "Ace3" - I am confused! I am plagued by evil! (Roughly translated from the Latin) Anywho, you should have seen the news by now. "Ace 3" with NO Jim. I have been sitting on the "Ace 3" "development" story since Oct.02. I was dying to post it, because it was a real shocker. However, I wanted to make sure of Jim's involvement, so I contacted Jim's people, and waited for a reply. After all, Jim said he wouldn't do another Ace. At first I thought, "Maybe when Carrey, Shadyac and Oedekerk got together on 'Bruce Almighty' (these were the three guys that brought us Ace in the first place), they decided to break down, pander to the audience, and make an Ace trilogy." That was my hope.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> But, I could not shake the sense of impending doom.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("> So, I asked. Then, I waited on pins and needles. As I waited, news came in that Jim signed to do "The Hypnotist." I thought, "There's no way in heck Jim's gonna do an 'Ace 3'!" Then I got a few Emails from people claiming to have friends in the "Ace 3" cast! They wanted more info. I couldn't give it to them, because not even I knew what was going on!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> Finally, I got the official word late last night (Oct. 17) about Jim's status with "Ace 3." I groaned, thinking, "Oh, great. Now I get to break the news." The only blessing I saw was that the answer was not, "We don't know." Not knowing is worse than "Yes" or "No." *sigh* Now the big question is, "Who's going to be Ace?"<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/glasses.gif ALT="8)"> Carrey ON! BCDavis

How can anyone else play Ace Ventura. Jim Carrey is the only person who can do Ace, no one else could even try. The film will just be ruined if they get someone other than Jim to play Ace.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">

I totally agree with you that Ace 3 will be ruined if someone else did Ace and Jim Carrey's #1 because He created Ace Ventura<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I agree also,its going to ruin the whole series if somone else plays Ace.I think its only fair to Jim and his fans that he plays Ace one last time.

I bet when the trailer for this movie comes out it wont show the stars face just like Dumb and Dumber 2 did. Does anyone know who is Directing this movie? I have a feeling Steve Oedekerk may play Ace himself. We have already seen he can't act with "Kung Pow", That had to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Oh hey, Steve Oedekerk CAN act. Have you seen "High Strung"? He's brilliant in it. I don't think he ever does Ace, but frankly, thinking of the idea, he's the only one I would go watching. No, I haven't seen that movie. I probaly have judged him too soon. The only movies I was aware he was in was. " Nothing To loss" And " Kungpow" and I was very turned off by him.

Well, I haven't seen the two movies you mentioned... But you really should see High Strung. It's very good!
