Do you think someone else should have played Matthew Broderick's role in The Cable Guy?
Or if someone else could have done better?

well i really like the film so for me it's perfect with the cast it has but it would have been an interesting dynamic if Ben had taken Mathews role ....
It might have made it altogether darker though and made Chip sinister played against Bens dryer delivery.
it's a hard one...........

That's a good one! I didn't think of Ben Stiller.

I posted this topic because I noticed that no one mentioned Matthew in the co-star thread.

hmmm...he never seems to come up.....but his character was quite weak compared to Jims, he wasn't overtly memorable.....i still enjoyed his acting though.......

Matthew was just alright.
It's just he didn't know that Jim will look that big. If you know what I mean.
He didn't need to try and pull it his way - he thought his [Matthew's] name was gonna do everything for him.
That's a bit cruel though to say that.
Now the casting director would choose someone else I think.
But that year and time - they felt perfect together.

It wasn't the actors that ruined it, it was the script.
