"Moon" rumors
13 Jul 1999 A recent article from Entertainment Weekly has begged the question of the validity of rumors surrounding the upcoming film "Man on the Moon."
The rumors in question range from a trick beginning, to star cameos, to multiple endings. Regarding this last one, it has also been reported on several of the Internet movie rumor sites that there will be different versions of the film shipped to theaters.
Universal Pictures has stated that the rumors are not true nor do they know where they have originated, although they suspect the sources may be some of Andy Kaufman's associates who were closely involved in the movie. According to Terry Curtin, one of the studio's spokespersons, "we suspect that they're peppering the media with, um, provocative misinformation."
