"Sonic the Hedgehog" Top Spot on Disc Sales Charts

Jim Carrey's Sonic the Hedgehog debuted at the number 1 spot on the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended May 23.
The film, grossed $146 million at the domestic box office before theaters shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sonic the Hedgehog has been available for rental on disc since April 28, and was number 7 this week. It topped the list the first two weeks of rental.
